The Philippine Blue Smokey Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare), also known as the Philippine Blue or Cobalt Angelfish, is a very in-demand color variant of the classic angelfish. Juveniles often do not display the blue/turquoise coloration, but will develop it generously as they grow and approach maturity.
Dad is the Veil Tail and Mom is the Standard tail.  This is a young pair and these babies are from their first hatching and they are beauties.
Angelfish can live up to 10 years in captivity if they are provided with proper aquarium conditions. Because of their shape, this species does much better in tall aquariums with a capacity of at least 29 gallons but larger tanks are much better for them.  As they reach sexual maturity you may have some pair off and begin breeding.  During this time they can be aggressive to other fish as they are protecting their chosen territory to begin laying eggs.  You will need additional tanks at this time to house them or find them new homes.
Angelfish are able to recognize their owners and react excitedly when they see their favorite people come into the room.  They look forward to every feeding and are always ready to eat.  They love flake foods best but will eat sinking foods as well.  Provide a variety in their diet for optimal health. Our babies are bred by us at Purple Aquatics and are raised on live brine shrimp, Fry Starter Krill, then switched to a diet of flake foods (Cichlid Grow, Beefheart and Krill flakes), plus more variants of fish food to make them more adaptable to new diets in their new homes.
    Shipping: We
ship Angelfish on Mondays/Tuesdays, (day at my discretion), and sometimes on Wednesdays.  I use multiple hot packs as needed, Styrofoam insulation, plus additional insulation materials and insert oxygen into the fish bag (we use double or triple bagging) and they are shipped in our larger boxes and bags to get them to you alive.  If you wish to purchase other fish from us we do combined shipping at a discounted rate for the additional fishes you wish to purchase.
    DOA Policy:
I guarantee live arrival.  I have included additional babies in case of DOA's.  Contact me via E-Bay communications with pictures of the DOA fish still in the bag WITHIN 2 hours of the delivery time noted in your tracking number.  Pictures are required for a partial refund (minus my shipping cost) or replacement.  Re-shipping will require additional cost to cover my shipping expenses.  Make sure you are home or someone is to take them inside ASAP and begin acclimating them to their new home.
Acclimating your new fish:  I do not recommend drip acclimation for these fish.  Its best to float the bag 20-30 minutes to adjust them to the temperature of their new home and then remove them from the bag and release them into the tank with plenty of aeration.
