Here is a truly charming Japanese classic

shippo
(with standard wire) enamel cloisonné vase of deer by the
Sato
workshop.
The vase is worked with groups of stylized deer playing around abstract clouds or mist-like forms worked in vibrant shades of colorful enamel.
The wonderful design is bold and stylized and provides a simple and playful expression.
The background is worked with a mint green enamel in high glossy polish and is in excellent vintage condition without any major faults such as cracks, chips or hairlines or restorations.
The bottom rim is marked “Japan (Trademark) Sato Cloisonne” which is one of the most lengthy variations for the
Sato
workshop.
The height of this vase is approximately 5.0 inches
The width of the vase is approximately 4.5 inches
Overall, a very attractive vase in pristine vintage condition with a very strong sense of modernist design.
