Fine Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase with Flying Cranes - Signed by Kinunken

Here is a rare Japanese classic
yusen shippo
(with standard wire) enamel cloisonné vase decorated with two flying cranes worked on a light blue enamel ground.
The two abstract cranes are highlighted with touches of light red enamel for the head area and light gray enamel of for the back area of the wings.
The vase is in excellent vintage condition without any major faults such as cracks, chips or hairlines or restoration.
Most artist workshops stayed away from such light blue background enamels as it revealed virtually any enamel inconsistency or fault.
The bottom base is impressed with the extremely rare signature variation consisting of four
kanji
characters “
Kin
-
un
-
ken
Zo
” fitted with chrome finished rims.
In over 35 years of focused collecting, this is the first example that I have been able to acquire that has this impressed artist mark.

Overall, a very peaceful and uplifting design of a pair of cranes soaring in a light blue, cloud like ground, signed by one of the most prestigious cloisonne workshops.
