    Description

Thank you so much to those who have taken the time to look at our various items and also to those who kindly purchased pieces from our collection!  We have the experience and care to pack these rare pieces.  Here is a large Japanese traditional wire technique (yusen shippo) design of what is referred to as the Hosogemon or precious flower pattern.
The vase is worked with the Hosogemon pattern on two opposite areas of the vase.
This vase actually needs very little introduction as it is became a very desirable design when Mr. Gregory Irvine from the Victoria and Albert Museum published his beautiful and ground-breaking book, “Japanese Cloisonne,” source: V&A Publications, South Kensington, London, SW7 2RL, 2006. Please refer to the similar vase illustrated on page 98.
The vase is finished in a deep rich, creamy beige enameled ground in high polish and is in excellent vintage condition without any major faults such as cracks, chips or hairlines or restorations. The rims are finished in chrome mounts.
The top rim has become oxidized and pitted over the years.
    Please refer to the images.
The height of this unusually shaped vase is approximately 9.0 inches
The width of the vase is approximately 6.5 inches at the midpoint
Overall, a fine vase in pristine condition with a very strong sense of design.  This exact vase is illustrated and described on page 132 in Chapter 16, “Yusen-Jippo; Standard wire cloisonne enamel,” in the reference book “Japanese Cloisonne Enamel; A Private Collector’s Notes and Reference Guide,” by Gary Yoshino.  The successful buyer of this vase will be provided a copy of page 132.
This vase is quite heavy and robust; we request that the buyer help in offsetting some of the USPS Priority Mail cost.  The vase will be double boxed and packed with tremendous care.
This vase will be shipped by USPS Priority Mail with insurance to confirmed addresses within the United States.  We currently cannot ship overseas or make international deliveries at this time due to large size and weight of this vase.  International buyers utilizing US based freight forwarding shipping companies are requested to refrain from purchasing at this time.
