Here is a wonderful and impressive Japanese cloisonne enamel vase with an elegant globular formed body worked with twokoi
(carp) fish.
The artist also worked the vase with lighter enamel shading to depict the
koi
fish with movement.
This vase is finished in a high polish and is in pristine vintage condition without any major faults such as cracks, chips or hairlines or restoration. The
Shobido
(prestigious retailer) trademark is formed in wire on the bottom base and fitted with a chrome finished metal rim.
As many of you know, I originally acquired this vase many years ago as part of my fanatical efforts to obtain as many examples of fine examples and techniques of Japanese cloisonné.
