    Description

Here is an impressive Japanese combined yusen shippo (with standard wire) cloisonné and wireless highlights (musen) enamel vase with a stylized flower, possibly a rose, by the prestigious Ando workshop.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this vase is how the Ando workshop confidently utilized the wireless (musen) white enamel to boldly outline the floral design.
The end result is a dynamic design that is both bold, strong and striking.
The vase is finished in a deep bluish green enamel in high polish and is in good vintage condition without any major faults such as cracks, hairlines, loses or restorations. The only condition issue are the light scratches and some light abrasions on and near the two leaves of the design.
If you are an advanced collector who requires a work to be in perfect condition, please refrain from bidding.
The Ando workshop trademark is formed in wire on the center of the base.
The bottom rim is stamped “SILVER.”
Advanced collectors will recognize that many works that are fitted with silver rims are consistently of the highest quality that may indicate a custom (commissioned) order or presentation piece.
The height of this vase is approximately 9.75 inches
The width of the vase is approximately 5.25 inches
Overall, a very attractive vase in good vintage condition with a very strong sense of design.
Specialists generally agree that less than 7.0% of all Japanese cloisonne enamel works are marked or signed by their artist workshops.
