    Description

    Civil War period Officer's Model 1851 Eagle Waist Belt plate in excellent non-dug condition. Cast brass with integral motif and applied narrow tongue. Has a nice gold tone to the brass with sharp detail to the devices on the face of the plate. Measures approx. 2" x 3.25"; (51mm x 83mm). Back of the plate shows a light aged patina with no markings.  No keeper.  Overall, very fine condition with minimal high point wear. The buckle corresponds to Plate 619 in O'Donnell and Campbell's "American Military Belt Plates".  Several photos are provided to show all aspects as to condition & item details and are considered part of the description.
