    Regulation 1826 Pattern SHOULDER BELT PLATE
    Regulation 1826 Pattern Shoulder Belt Plate for Enlisted men.  63 mm - Die Struck, with Iron Loops.  Gaylord took over Ames in 1856 and marked the back of the plate.  Since there are no markings on back, made by Ames 1826-1856.  Notice the iron loops removed and brass wires added within the period.  Nice patina - See page 290 O'Donnel.
