SCOVILL "WATERBURY" LENS, from the 1880'S.
Following is the description that the seller had put on eBay when I purchased the lens:
" By far the most often found on Scovill field cameras from the 1870s through the 1890s.
Technically, this is a single achromat in the B size, for half plate, 5X7 and 5 X 8 cameras.
Wheel stops. 10" back focus, 2-1/2 inch long, 1-3/4 inch diameter, 2-3/4 inch flange.
I am selling my collection of antique cameras.
Please look at all the photos carefully as they have not been retouched and show the camera as it is. I am not an expert in these antique cameras, have done my best to describe them as they are but can not guaranty that all functions are accurate and perfect, these are all over a 100 years old.
As I have sadly had a bad experience with a buyer taking the camera apart and then claiming it does not work, I no longer accept returns.
