VALENTINE SILVERESQUE 1945 Belfast Photo Post Card Lot of 8

Description

Lot of eight 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" black-and-white Silveresque photo postcards by Valentine & Sons, Dundee & London, of scenes in Belfast, Ireland.  The scenes are Hazelwood, High Street, Donegal Quay, Bellevue, Northern Ireland Houses of Parliament, Queen's University and War Memorial, The Steps at Bellevue, and Cave Hill and Belfast Castle.
All were posted in 1945 by a US serviceman to his wife in Shelby, North Carolina, and subsequently mounted in a scrap book.  Consequently, they all have writing on the back and wear from handling, particularly corner wear where they were slid into the mounts.  All have some black residue from the mounts.
