Item Description :
This is a Japanese pottery vase of Bizen Ware, which was
made by a Human National Treasure, Yu Fujiwara (1932-2001)
about 45 years ago.
He is one of the greatest potters of Bizen ware, who was designated as a Human National Treasure in 1996
.
The siganture of the potter is carved on the body.  The original wooden box with the signature of the potter & his profile are also included.
Bizen ware is a type of Japanese pottery most identifiable by its ironlike hardness, reddish brown color, absence of glaze, and marklings resulting from wood-burning kiln firing.
